RCGC, the Royal Calcutta Golf Club in Kolkata, West Bengal is highly renowned as the first ever golf course outside the boundaries of the Great Britain, has vast eighteen holes golf course. The Royal Calcutta Golf Club is primarily located in its original address near the DumDum Airport, and then shifted to the Maidan. Finally it settles down in the present address in Tollygunge. Established in 1829, this Golf Club is important as the oldest golf club in India and the first outside Great Britain. The Royal Calcutta Golf Club has significantly contributed in increasing in the popularity of the golf in the country. When King George V and Queen Mary make their tour to Calcutta in 1911, they became extremely pleased with the glamour of the course and conferred with the title of 'Royal'.
